Registration for the 2022 Spring Break Write-A-Thon will open on February 7th and will close at 5pm on March 7th

Need to get a jump start on writing your dissertation or thesis? Almost done but could use an energy boost? The Spring Break Write-A-Thon is for you!

Ph.D. students who have advanced to candidacy and MFA students working on their theses can sign up for 1, 2, or 3 full days of writing, depending on individual schedules and needs. Each day, participants will engage in dedicated writing time in the serene and cozy setting of College Building South at the Center for Ideas & Society. You'll be surrounded by peers who are also hard at work on their writing, which will help you stay focused on your own writing goals! A free continental breakfast and free lunch will be available every day of the Write-A-Thon. During the lunch hour, participants will engage in programming focused on goal setting, accountability, writing support, and more!

When

  • Spring Break, March 22-24, 9am-4:30pm

Where

  • Center for Ideas & Society, College Building South

Currently, all events are planned to take place in person at the Center for Ideas & Society in College Building South. However, to ensure the safety of students and staff, we will closely monitor pandemic conditions in the weeks leading up to the event. If necessary, we will transition to a digital Write-A-Thon with all events and activities hosted via Zoom.

The Write-A-Thon is free for any Ph.D. candidate who has advanced to candidacy or any MFA student working on their thesis. However, any student who registers and does not attend will be assessed a $25 fee to their student account per day missed to cover the cost of food and materials. If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, please contact Graduate Writing Center Coordinator Alexis Smith by March 15th
