Summer Fellowship Writing Program

Summer 2022 dates: July 11– September 2

Every summer, the Graduate Writing Center offers a series of fellowship writing workshops as part of the GradEdge/JumpStart Program for incoming graduate students in STEM. Specifically, these workshops focus on the Ford Foundation Fellowship Programs and NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program. Current UCR graduate students from any department/college who are eligible to apply for these fellowships are also encouraged to attend our workshops for additional application support.

Workshops consist of a series of eight 2-hour workshops held weekly in July and August. During these sessions, students will learn the basic application requirements of each fellowship, with a particular focus given to written components of the applications, such as personal statements and research statements. In addition, to support offered in the workshops themselves, participants will have three guaranteed consultations with Graduate Writing Center writing consultants to gain personalized feedback on their personal statements and/or research statements.
